Jonathan Burrows began as a classical dancer at the Royal Ballet before his move towards the avant-gardist British scene in the early 1990s. Both Sitting Duet is his last creation. It is a close collaboration with his long time friend, the Italian composer Matteo Fargion. Burrows and Fargion sit side by side. Only the upper body moves, as if following the imaginary pace of Morton Feldman. Playing with rhythm and desynchronization, the duo plunges into a mute conversation, exploring the fascinating space between music and movement.
