Red Sky at Night is an installation that changes through the course of its exhibition. Crude cardboard letters spelling the word H-O-P-E hang from four brightly coloured helium balloons installed against the ceiling. Each night, the balloons deflate and fall to the ground, each morning a new set is installed, spelling out the same optimistic message.
As the days go by the resonance of the folorn message or sign of HOPE gets redrawn – the HOPE trapped up at the ceiling presides over an increasingly absurd pile of failed, deflated and trapped HOPES.
