News

For our call for projects on living traditions we received 411 applications from 48 countries worldwide. Thanks a lot to everyone who submitted a project!

The jury is going to study all these proposals carefully and will take its decision in January. Its members are:

LAURENCE WAGNER
Laurence Wagner is artistic director of TU (Théâtre de l’Usine) in Geneva. Previously she worked for the Swiss Institute in New York and for Triptic, a transborder cultural project between Switzerland, France and Germany.

SANDINO SCHEIDEGGER
Sandino Scheidegger is an independent curator living in Paris and Zurich. He is co-founder of the Zurich based experimental arts institution Random Institute, whose project Consider Yourself Invited was selected within the call for projects for Belluard Festival 2015.

CLAIRE VERLET
Former dancer and choreographer Claire Verlet is since 2008 joint artistic director at Théâtre de la Ville in Paris. During her career she was engaged in literally every function related to contemporary dance such as teaching, production, theatre direction and promotion.

IVAN MARIANO
Since 2012 Ivan Mariano is director of the Museum Morat/Murten, a historical museum in a medieval town nearby Fribourg that also exhibits contemporary Swiss art. He holds a PhD in history and is vice-president of visual artists association Visarte Fribourg.

MÉLANIE ROUILLER
Photographer Mélanie Rouiller has made several reportages on local cultural heritage and social life. She is currently mandated to coordinate the canton of Fribourg’s projects on Living Traditions.

MAX-PHILIP ASCHENBRENNER
Max-Philip Aschenbrenner is dramaturge at Asian Arts Theatre in Gwangju, South Korea. After working at Theater der Welt Festival in Germany, he became artistic director at Südpol in Kriens, Switzerland. Aschenbrenner also participated in programming the Wiener Festwochen.

ALESSANDRA SIMEONI
Alessandra Simeoni has lived and worked in Geneva and Budapest before. She was involved in numerous Italian festivals such as Santarcangelo, Uovo performing arts festival in Milan and Venice Biennial. Now she is part of the Marche Teatro team in Ancona and beyond.

ANJA DIRKS
Since September 2014 Anja Dirks is the director of Belluard Festival. From 2009 to 2014 she was artistic director of the festival Theaterformen in Braunschweig and Hannover. Before that she worked for the Theaterhaus Gessnerallee in Zurich, the Wiener Festwochen, FFT Düsseldorf and the Theater der Welt festival.
