Meanwhile, lets meet the seven members of the international jury:
MARTIN BIERI
Martin Bieri (*1977), dramaturge, writer and journalist, lives in Bern and studied theater studies, theology and art history and has a doctorate in contemporary theater and landscape theory. From 1999 to 2002 he was part oft he dramaturgy team oft he Lucerne Theater. From 2009 on he was a dramaturge at the Theater Neumarkt Zurich. From 2002 to 2014 he was a member oft he independent group Schauplatz International (Bern/Berlin) and since 2012 he is the dramaturge of the performance group ultra. He writes for various newspapers in Germany and Switzerland about art and sports. For his poetry, he was awarded the Literaturpreis of the Canton Bern in 2016, and in 2017 the Literaturpreis of the City of Bern.
SILVIA BOTTIROLI
Silvia Bottiroli is a contemporary performing arts curator and researcher. Phd in Visual and Performing Arts at the Pisa University, she is author of numerous writings about the XXth century and contemporary theater and dance scene.
She has worked as a producer for the theatre company Societas Raffaello Sanzio and has supervised diverse critical, curatorial and educative projects, as well as sharing in the fields of performing arts and collaborating with a.o. The School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem, Homo Novus Festival in Riga, Ghent University, Vooruit and Campo in Ghent, Aleppo in Brussels.
From 2012 to 2016 she has been the artistic director of Santarcangelo Festival, and since 2011 she is Adjunct Professor at Bocconi University in Milan, where she teaches Methodology, Critique and Research in the Arts and Theatre, Festivals and Live Performances.
LOU COLOMBANI
Lou Colombani is a French curator. Since 2006, she's the initiator, general director and curator of festival Parallèle, highlight for young international creation occurring every January in the most prestigious venues dedicated to contemporary art in Marseille and its region. All year long, she works side by side with artists to improve their artistic project and their professional development on an international level.
She's a teacher at Aix-Marseille University on Master Degree and is regularly invited to be part of juries and committees linked to contemporary creation (subsidies, galleries, grants).
CRISTINA GALBIATI
Director, dramaturge and independent artist Cristina Galbiati is co-founder of Trickster-p a research art project based in Novazzano. As time went by, her focus has shifted from a more narrow definition of theatre to include expressions that transgress genre boundaries. It is an invitation for the audiences to open up their perceptive space and create their own reality on the boundaries between inner vision and outer sight.
To date her artistic projects have been presented in more than 30 Countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.
Along with the artistic work, Trickster-p channeled its experimental vocation by creating la casa del tabacco, a space of creation and experimentation in the village of Novazzano, few kilometers away from the Italian‐Swiss border.
Trickster-p has been awarded the Swiss Theatre Award 2017.
SYLVAIN MARADAN
Sylvain Maradan is the artistic director of the multidisciplinary festival The Castrum in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland (since 2016). He has a diploma in cultural management from the University of Lausanne (2012) and is passionate about music and the performing arts. First trained as a baker, he worked for 7 years as the music programmer for the cultural center Le Nouveau Monde in Fribourg. He then went on to manage various cultural projects for the city of Fribourg, including the year TINGUELY2016. In parallel to these projects, he also managed for 4 years the programming of the festival Les Georges (Fribourg), and since 2016, he has been working along side Daniel Fontana on music-related projects within the Belluard Festival.
MARGARITA TSOMOU
Margarita Tsomou is a Greek author, publisher, playwright and curator. She publishes the pop-feminist Missy Magazine and writes for German newspapers and radio. Her art and curatorial projects have been presented in various institutions, such as at the Hebbel am Ufer Berlin, at the Maxim Gorki Theater, at the Kampnagel in Hamburg, at the Onassis Cultural Center in Athens or at the documenta 14 in Kassel. Her most recent project is a series of events in the Paul B. Preciado’s discursive program at the documenta 14. At the end of the year, she will publish her thesis entitled DIE REPRÄSENTATION DER VIELEN. She is a member of the publishing group b_books and of the artistic activists group Schwabinggrad Ballett.
ANJA DIRKS
Since September 2014 Anja Dirks is the director of Belluard Festival. From 2009 to 2014 she was the artistic director of the festival Theaterformen in Braunschweig and Hannover. Before that she worked for the Theaterhaus Gessnerallee in Zurich, the Wiener Festwochen, FFT Düsseldorf and the Theater der Welt festival.
