Labourer is the charismatic dancer’s first solo piece. She addresses femininity, hard labor and metamorphoses. Automated drums accompany her radical, delicate and dreamy choreography.
Madeleine Fournier is the author of strange and captivating dances. They move through a variety of motives and periods. She takes daily moves, mechanics, sexuality, maternity, life force, slashing them, hollowing them and turning them inside out. She displays a dry humor and a disarming fragility. All of this gives rise to a spellbinding, mysterious, multilayered confusion, blurring the seemingly fundamental boundary between nature and culture.
