Juana Molina

(Buenos Aires)

A free, creative and tribal Porteña

Hypnotic, beguiling Juana Molina. In the swirl of her bewitching loops and rolling rhythms, her folk guitars and electronic sounds, no need to understand the Spanish lyrics she sings and murmurs to fall into a trance. For Halo, her seventh album she mostly recorded in her gardening shed, Juana Molina has drawn inspiration from a popular legend – that of luz mala, a diabolical glow that hovers over the ground where bones are buried.
Released last year, Halo is presented for the first time in French-speaking Switzerland at the Belluard Festival – a great opportunity to finally discover on stage she who some call the white witch, and who others compare to a Björk who has forgotten her manners.
