How does a man deal with being rejected? Alessandro Schiattarella is alone on an empty stage. He sings. He dances. He struggles against the stereotypes of hegemonic masculinity.
A solo somewhere between a karaoke show and an intimate performance. The guiding thread is a playlist of songs on the theme of rejection. The artists examine male stereotypes, make them their own and create surrealist choreographies. They have researched male postures in pop and street culture. Interviews with teenagers who have become violent fuel their creation. Personal experiences of rejection by women, fathers and other men also contribute to the piece.
The artists will hold a workshop on masculinities. More information here.
