Une oeuvre artistique, indomptable et vivante doit se démarquer le plus possible des impératifs néo-libéraux et être libre. Mais réaliser un projet artistique comprend des responsabilités éthiques, politiques et sociales. En tant qu’artiste-danseur-choré-graphe-directeur-de-compagnie, je jongle tous les jours avec ces libertés et ces responsabilités. Parlons-en calmement ensemble.

Kunst wird heute entweder staatlich oder privat finanziert, Kombinationen sind selten. Seit kurzem existiert dank des Internets eine neue Finanzierungsquelle: das «Crowdfunding». Dieses ermöglicht einerseits eine autonome Finanzierung künstlerischer Projekte und andererseits neue Kombinationen staatlicher und privater Kunstfinanzierung.

Questions about the use of art tend to be used against it, since art is seen as a field of the elitist expertise. Personally, I believe in cherishing vain and excessive gestures as a potential space for (also collective) liberty. Art, like a tender knife, can cut reality into little pieces that still reflect it, as a sort of side effect.

Loin d’être innocents ou désintéressés, les gestes des artistes peuvent nous envoûter ou nous irriter, nous offrir des câlins ou des gifles. Que l’art ne nous laisse pas indemne, l’histoire du BBI en est une preuve vivante. Je voudrais partager quelques expériences personnelles, raconter comment le « Bellu » a laissé bien des traces dans ma vie et celle de nombreuses et nombreux Fribourgeois·es.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

In the galleries of the Belluard Fortress, four salons run simultaneously every hour. They are numbered from 1 to 4. Chose the host and the topic of your interest and go to the respective salon. Presentations in each salon are given in the language they are described in.
