Cis Bierinckx will direct the Belluard Festival 2014

The Belluard Bollwerk International has chosen Cis Bierinckx as new director of the Festival.

Belgian Cis Bierinckx (°1955) has a longtime experience as curator and producer in the field of performing arts, film/video, music and visual arts. He worked worldwide with several individual artists, was engaged by The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Salzburger Festspiele, deSingel Antwerp, contributed programs to film festivals as the International Film Festival Ghent, International Fim Festival Rotterdam, founded the documentary film festivals VIEWPOINT and Documentary FilmPlatform ZONE, and curated or co-curated such festivals as SommerSzene Salzburg, TIME Festival Ghent and Belluard Bollwerk International. The last six years he directed and programmed the art center Beursschouwburg in Brussel with the emphasis on border arts, activism, artistic frictions, performance and transdisciplinary art.

Cis Bierinckx will begin the post in August 2013 and succeeds Sally De Kunst who has directed six editions of the Belluard Festival, including the upcoming anniversary edition 2013.
