The Festival Belluard Bollwerk International is looking for a new director

The Festival Belluard Bollwerk International is a contemporary arts festival founded in Fribourg in 1983. Each year in early summer, it presents twenty projects from various artistic disciplines such as dance, theatre, music, video, performances and installations.
The Belluard Festival, as venue and production site, is characterized by its sharp programming and quality, as well as its size and inviting atmosphere. It is a platform for (inter)national emerging and recognized artists, opening new paths.

The Festival Belluard Bollwerk International is looking for a

Director (100%)

to provide artistic and executive leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Artistic programming
  • Financial responsibility including fundraising and generating income
  • Supervising the technical and logistical organization as well as the production and communication in collaboration with the festival team
  • Promoting the festival locally, nationally and internationally

Requirements

  • Proven experience in programming and managing cultural events
  • Proven knowledge of the contemporary art scene and an extensive network of contacts
  • Confident communicator and negotiator
  • Proven financial and fundraising skills
  • Languages: proficiency in French and English (knowledge of German would be an asset)
  • Willingness to settle in the Fribourg region

Location: Fribourg, Switzerland
Start date: 1st August 2013
